When Andie told me that she named a storyboard after me I was so excited to use it. And you know what I found? This thing rocks! I may be a little biased since it is named after me, but seriously. So versatile (as is all of Andie’s stuff it seems) and really easy to use.

So let’s see what I did. Shall we?
I have been trying to figure out something to do for one of my kids rooms that really spoke to who he was. I found a great quote and set about trying to figure something out. I drew a blank. However, when I saw the 20×20 LaShawn Storyboard it immediately popped into place.
I rotated the storyboard on its side.

I can’t wait to print this and get it hung up. Then I plan on using more of Andie’s storyboards to design something for my other three boys. Possibilities are endless.
I just love the Fake HDR action so much, and I think it’s so versatile, I thought I’d share it again. In this image, I used the Fake HDR and the Edge action – upping the opacity for more drama.

Just for fun, here’s the before:

For this next sample, I used this awesome 5×30 storyboard template to showcase a series of newborn photos. For visual interest, I also added one of the Rhonna Backgrounds that can be found here.

I’m not one for over done eyes. I’ve seen some, that personally, frighten me a little bit. I do however like to give them a little umpfh. Especially in Boudoir Photography! One day my friend Annie & I decided we needed some new photo’s of ourselves for our photography sites. Annie has these GORGEOUS eyes, that obviously got a little lost in my lens. Thankfully I had the perfect fix.. I’ve gone through LOTS of eye bump actions, i’m very picky. I love how much I can customize Andie’s. Andie’s Awesome Eyes is just that, AWESOME! See for yourself!

Not too much, just a little extra umpfh to make them shine. Check out Andie’s Awesome Eyes

Until next time,

Hi y’all, Kathy here!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am over all the new fabulous things Andie is putting in the store the past few days!! She’s so amazing!!
So yesterday, I combined a few of her new things into one sweet Valentine’s Day card for my family. I used the started with the Anytime card 5×5 Laken:

Then I used the new Rhonna backgrounds, Alpha, and Dodads to spice it up. I just love all the Rhonna stuff, so cute and suited to both Valentine’s Day and Spring themes. Here’s my finished card:

I was so thrilled with how this turned out. It’s a completely custom card that we will be proud to send out to friends & family.
I was so happy to see that Andie was promoting this storyboard as a fund raiser for Haiti!!! I bought it the day it came out and while yes, the target may have been weddings – MY target has been families. And it makes me tear up every time I see a mom’s expression when she opens her package.
This one is one of my favorites – mounted on 2mm styrene via BayPhoto and I added grosgrain ribbon with velcro to the back. The red matches the red in the text. My apologies for the quality of the photo – it’s early and I now realize that my walls in my office are so covered with photos that I need to clear out a space to take shots of different items.

I will be back more regularly now that I’ve taken care of finding a day job (need to pay for college tuition) so my schedule will return to something more regular! I am very excited – everytime I come here (yes, daily) I am so blown away by all of my fellow bloggers ideas. These ideas are totally helping me view Andie’s products “out of the box” – something I have a hard time doing. I am so inspired! And do we all love Andie’s new look and the store!! Yay!!
I’ll be back later today (that’s the plan) to catch you up on some other things I’ve been doing with Andie’s beautiful products and on life! Everyone have a great Super Bowl Sunday!! AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE SALE!! I know did last night

Rebecca had me laughing when she told me she is addicted to the Road Trip Lightroom Presets (Road Trip ACR Presets). In her words, ” I’m just an occasional digi-scrapper with a camera I shouldn’t be trusted to use
You make me look good. Gee, can you tell I’m totally addicted?! “ Love it… Thanks Rebecca!!
Lightroom is a great tool, and you don’t need to be a pro to use it!

Hey hey… Chris here and I am back with a little sample of what is possible with a preset, and a storyboard. I rolled through my presets and found a look that I wanted to create for my storyboard presentation for a bit of a uniformed look and feel throughout the board. As I played with the ASD 16×20n12 Storyboard, it struck me that all I needed to further tweak it to suit my vision was nothing more than planned experimentation. So I did just that. Add a Bevel, a drop shadow and link the masked layers around and you’ve got a totally custom look on top of your ASD Storyboard. Don’t be afraid to throw some text on the board and treat it like a true pin up board– this ties it to either your studio or to your client specifically when it is personalized. Rotating the Canvas allows for a different feel or fit for your images. Try it for yourself the possibilities are only limited to your imagination and creative vision.

Customized storyboard
I used the ASD 16×20A storyboard for the example of applying a preset to tie the entire set of images with the exact same look and the preset I used is from the On The Road Again set—The Beltway preset on the storyboard below. Remember that presets can work for a set of images (or in Lightroom terms, a collection of images) but they are inherently individual to the each specific image. Just because a preset looks good on a single image, does not always translate to a group of them. I found the Beltway preset helpful for this set of images I selected, because it added a color hue to the shadows primarily and this is what caught my attention all of which was controlled in the split toning panel in the Develop module.

The Beltway Preset, ASD 16x20A Storyboard
A little tip for you guys: Make a virtual copy of your image before you apply your preset, then expand the panels on the right side of the interface to expose all of the sliders so once the preset is selected and applied, you will see what sliders are modified. With this information, you can fine tune the effects to your specific tastes. Or you can simply cheat. Once you click the preset, scroll down the left panel and expand History. You will be presented with every adjustment made by the preset and bonus info—the adjustment increments and starting point. Pretty cool stuff, eh? Virtual copies are your friends and they serve many purposes this is just a pretty cool one to know about.
I’ll catch you next time with more on ASD Lightroom Presets and Photoshop Actions!!

This is one of my favorite quotes… and at Andie Smith Designs, we are going to do what we can do. Every month we will choose a product for the “We Can Help” section. We are also asking our featured photographer to choose a product and a charity.
During the month of February and March for each 20×10 Each Day Storyboard sold, Andie Smith Designs will donate $7 to Thirst Relief International.
