Get the most from your templates!

if you’re anything like me, you can spend all day looking through the templates and designs. and before you know it, you’re experiencing buyer’s remorse because you bought storyboards that you think you’ll only use once. or cards you’ll only use for holidays. Well, in most cases, you can get MULTIPLE uses out of your templates. In the example below, you’ll see how i changed the 12×24 Grunge Storyboard into a 5×7 Flat Card for a High School Graduate.

Here is the original 12×24 storyboard preview

the KEY to this resize is to complete the resize BEFORE you add your photos to it.

(i use PC)

Alt+Ctrl+I is the keyboard shortcut to change the image size

you’ll want to be sure to de-select “constrain proportions”

and manually enter the size you wish to change to. you’ll notice SOME compression, but once you add your images, i promise this won’t look bad.

once you have complete the image size adjustment, you’ll see each of your layers are also changed and you can begin your design

here is my design i completed. see? looks great as both the story board and a card!!!

you can then create a back side to the card by simple removing your image layers (after you save the PSD that is) and adding a text to the background

now you can get multiple uses for the templates you have already purchased. you can always manipulate colors, mask sizes, etc. hope that helps some! and encourages you to go ahead and purchase that awkward size template that you thought you wouldn’t use more than once!!!
